| Welcome | | Hi and welcome to my discussion board. I created this board because I'm a big fan of Westcoast AOR music and I couldn't find any on this site. What is Westcoast AOR music. Well AOR stands for Adult Oriented Rock. It's hard to describe the sound because it varies from fusion and soft jazz like Lee Ritenour and Jeff Lober, to soft rocks acts like Chicago and Toto to singer songwriters like James Taylor, Christopher Cross and Karla Bonoff, to smooth contemporary R&B acts like Al Jarreau, Earth Wind and Fire and Dionne Warwick, to country singers like Eddie Rabbit, Pure Prarie League and Crystal Gayle, and to Christian Contemporary acts like Roby Duke, Anderson Blackwood and Company, and Amy Grant. The best way to describe it is a smooth and sophisticated contemporary sound that is not limited to one type of genre.Right now it's just me, myself and I but I'm hoping that it will get bigger and better in the future.Enjoy. | |

| What music or group lets you relive the tension | | For me it would be Amy Grant or Kenny G. I know you can stop laughing now. But hey at least I am honest. How about you, what type of music or group do you unwind to or relax to. What do you play at the end of a long hard day. | |
| | Has Anyone Ever Met A Singer In Person? | | The only singer that I have ever met I will never forget. That singer was Amy Grant. I was 9 years old at the time and Amy Grant who was 19 years old at the time a held a concert at the Treemont Temple in Boston,Mass. I
remember haveing so much fun singing to her songs. After the concert was done my adopted parents brought me down to the stage and a security guard stopped us and asked us what we were doing. My adopted mother said "my daughter would be delighted if she could meet Amy Grant could she do this?" The security guard said "no" My adopted mother said something else to the security guard but I wasn't listening for my adopted father was talking to me. The next thing I knew We were following the security guard back stage. I asked my adopted mom "how did you get him to say yes?" she told mw she'd tell me later. The security guard walked us down this hallway that lead to some stairs and said wait here. He went up and came back down. Not even a minute went by I looked up and Amy Grant was comeing down the stairs w/ a red sweat shirt, blue jeans, and white tennis sneakers on smileing. | I Met a Star! | | I got to meet Amy grant the other night. She's the wife of vince gill, who was being honored as Oklahoman of the Year at our old grade school (Vince was a year ahead of me, but we were in Cub Scouts together and played little league baseball on the same team).
After the ceremony and mini-concert, I went up to amy Grant and said, "Wow! You are a star, right here in the old auditorium. I mean, Vince...well, he's one of the guys from the team, but you are like a mega-star!'
She was sooooo nice and really classy. She said to me, "You are a star, too. Vince has a picture of the team and you are in it. It's one of his most cherished possessions."I melted.
Have you ever met a star?rs and said wait here. He went up and came back down. Not even a minute went by I looked up and Amy Grant was comeing down the stairs w/ a red sweat shirt, blue jeans, and white tennis sneakers on smileing.
