| | Theme shows.... | | As we head into Hollywood Week the question arises, what sort of themes will they have for the contestants this year? Each year they have the contestants sing songs that were popular the year they were born, they have them sing songs from Disco, Country, the Billboard Hot 100 from whichever week it happens....If you were a producer, what would you pick for one of the themes? Singing past Idols' hits is sometimes met with dismay from the judges, especially those of Kelly or Carrie because their voices are so powerful, but I think it would be an homage for the new contestants to pay tribute to past contestants by singing their songs.... not just the winners, include Jennifer Hudson, Clay Aiken, Chris Daughtry, Elliott Yamin....any of them who have gone on with their careers.Also, older country hits... pre-1990s. Some of the old singers had some really difficult melodies and really terrific voices, I think it would be a challenging theme that could absolutely separate the good from the great. | |
